The history of the Mais Vida Institute
The history of the Mais Vida Institute began with its activities informally in 2007, with the desire of its creator, André Muniz, to help a less favored supply need in our society. With Christian principles, with a mind and heart moved by justice and the desire for the common good, colleagues with volunteers, began a beautiful path of actions that over 14 years has making dreams come true and transforming lives.
At the beginning, from 2007 to 2012, a total of 5 consecutive years, Andre Muniz, his wife Jane cler and her mother-in-law Margarida Avelino and other volunteers prepared 45 liters of soup, all Thursdays and we went out at night to the outskirts of the city of Maceió, more precisely in the Centro, Jaraguá, Poço, Vergel neighborhoods, bringing soup, bread, sheets and warm clothes, and other food, to give some comfort and relief to a homeless population, killing the hunger of many In need. Other support groups show up in the evenings helping to give continuity of action, so the group decided to stop and focus on the possibility of helping others city points.
In 2013, visiting the Antares neighborhood, André Muniz, wife and the others who stayed, decided establish Headquarters in the place, as they saw that communities in need, and many that live in situations of social vulnerability, they needed not only palliative help, but actions and projects to give them the opportunity to improve their lives. Then, on October 16, 2013, the Institute Mais Vida was established as a CSO - Civil Society Organization, without economic purposes, Establishment of Headquarters at Av. Menino Marcelo, 5550 A, Antares district, Maceió - Alagoas. Currently collaborating with activities of associations for the defense of social rights, it has the following information:
The Mais Vida Institute can also execute or supervise inclusion programs in the labor market, activities artistic, cultural, sports, leisure, health and environment with a view to developing new sociabilities;
To develop the quality Social Assistance service, IMV can act directly or through agreements, contracts, adjustments or agreements with national or international entities, in order to receive technical and / or financial advice.
